Date there~
I have lived in Omaha my whole life and I met my DH there.
Weather~
Summers are warm to hot and muggy. Springs are perfect not to hot not to warm, Fall and Winter usually run together. It has snowed as early as October and as late as April. Depends on the winter you could have tons of snow and you could have hardly any.
Military facilities~
Offutt Airforce base has and exchange and a commissary. They basically have everything on base.
Medical~
They use Prime and you go to Earling Berquist(Offutt's hospital) for everything.
Housing~
They have housing on Offutt Airforce Base, they also built brand new and very nice housing by the base. It is about a 20 min drive from Offutt to the CG base.
Shopping~
Omaha has 3 Malls Oakview, Westroads and Crossroads. There is TONS of shopping wherever you live!
Fun Activities~
There are AMC Movie Theatres, Bowling, University of Nebraska at Omaha hockey (Mavericks), there is the Old Market has a lot of fum little shops and eateries.
Child Care/Schools~
There is child care all over not hard to find. There are OPS (Omaha Public Schools), and Millard School District OPS is good and Millard Schools are very good. If you do live in CG Housing your children would be going to the Bellevue school district they also have very good schools.
Adult Schools~
There are Metropolitan Community Colleges, UNO, Creighton University, and Bellevue University.
